Festival season in New Orleans, to musicians and music lovers, is the greatest time of year. Starting with the French Quarter Fest andending with JazzFest and the Bayou Boogaloo (and everything in between) it is hands down a musical paradise. We got to play on a new stage at the FQF (The Jack Daniels Stage) and had the performance streamed live on WWOZ 90.7FM (www.wwoz.org). We played not one but two shows with the boss man Walter "Wolfman" Washington. It was an honor to open up the 30th anniversary of the Roadmasters at Tipitina's (video and audio coming soon!) and an even greater pleasure to play at Chiki Wah Wahs with Walter as our special guest. For that show we arranged 5 of his tunes using only New Orleans style piano, saxophone, rhythm guitar, and Walter on guitar and vocals, and. It was a great sound and we expect to do more full shows like it in the future. We shut down Frenchmen street on multiple nights and played to thousands of new fans and old friends alike (You know who you are!!!) Regrettably we didn't get to play at the fairgrounds (there's always next year, right?) but we were fortunate to play the Official (in our minds lol) JazzFest after party at Kenny Town (right outside the Mystery gate of the Fest). Thanks to everybody who came out and threw down with us. Can't wait to do it again!
We will see u all soon!
Keep It Funky!
P.S. All you Jersey peeps keep checking back for some summer dates!!
